(1944)This film was recommended to me by
two friends as an excellent World War II movie. Actually, it is more of a story about a strong Irish American
Catholic family of five sons and one daughter … how they grew up in Iowa and how all five brothers joined the Navy,
eliciting the promise that they could serve together. Only the last 20 minutes or so is about the war, and yes, I
cried.
